Anna Myatt
Voice
Anna Myatt studied music and maths at Keele University, before studying Music Theatre with Vic Hoyland at Birmingham University. She has studied voice with Amanda Crawley and Linda Hirst.
She formed and directed Midland Music Theatre, with whom she can be heard performing Roger Marsh's Love on the Rocks on the CD "Flutes and Voices"(Erasmus WVH 154). She has commissioned and premiered new works by Sohrab Uduman, Gordon McPherson and Roger Marsh. In 1995 she appeared as Passante III in Berio's opera La Vera Storia at the Royal Festival Hall. She has performed Pierrot Lunaire in German with the Clod Ensemble (London) and in English with Black Hair (York) and the Bergamo Ensemble (Canterbury). Her voice can be heard on the CD recording of Ezra Pound's opera "La Testament de Villon" and singing "Love's Old Sweet Song" on the Naxos recording of James Joyce's "Ulysses". She lives near York working as a freelance music educator in the Yorkshire and Humber region, and is a qualified Kodaly instructor.
